SALARY: £22,128 TO £28,746 PER ANNUM plus shift allowance (approx £8,500 per annum depending on commitment)

HOURS: 37.5 PER WEEK

We are a high performing trust providing acute and specialist outreach services for local people who live in an area extending from the fringes of north Bradford to parts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Our main hospital, which is Airedale General Hospital, is situated in the rolling countryside between Skipton and Keighley. It has good rail and road links to major cities and the Lake District.

Applications are invited for a full time HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist (Agenda for Change Band 5) in Haematology and Blood Transfusion. Candidates will need to be enthusiastic, well motivated and innovative, with good organisational and practical abilities supported by scientific knowledge, well developed interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to support individual and team working. An understanding of the CPA/UKAS Quality Management System is encouraged.

The department is well equipped, including Sysmex XN 9000 tracked system, ACL TOP 500 and TOP 300, Genexpert DX system, Alifax Test1 analysers. The Transfusion department is fully automated with 2 OrthoVisions and electronic issue of blood products.

The department operates a 24/7 service utilising a 37.5 hour shift system in which you will be required to fully participate.

Opportunities for further study and CPD are strongly supported. The laboratory has full CPA accreditation, is MHRA compliant and is approved for training by the IBMS.
