We are seeking an enthusiastic Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Cambridge Histopathology Department. The Department provides a Histopathology and Diagnostic Cytology service for the Cambridgeshire and wider East Anglia area. The department is well equipped, fully computerised and is working towards ISO15189. The department processes approximately 80,000 histological cases, and 9,600 non-gynaecological cytology cases per year.

The post will involve routine laboratory procedures including cut-up, embedding, microtomy, cryotomy, team leading and will have the additional responsibility of Risk Officer. In this Risk Officer role, you will be responsible for ensuring that risks are managed appropriately in the Histopathology department; particularly those relating to health and safety.

Aspects Histopathology experience is essential. You will have a proven track record of working in a team and demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to work.
