There is currently a vacancy for an experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist in our Chemical Pathology laboratory.
You should have at least 6 years post qualification experience at this level and have an MSc(or working towards) or equivalent (via on the job training). It would be advantageous to have some experience working in a multidiscipline laboratory and participation in the 24/7 service will be expected.
Your duties will include deputising for the Band 8a and some experience of staff management is essential. Leadership qualities are desirable.
The role will also include overseeing Chemistry Quality control, both internal and external, complaints management, staff training, stock management and ensuring the service provision on a day to day basis.
The Department has recently been assessed by UKAS and a new LIMS has been installed and you would therefore be expected to consolidate and provide support in these areas.
