Applications are invited from motivated, dynamic biomedical scientists for this exciting and busy post. The department is based at Salford Royal Hospital and provides a comprehensive diagnostic service to Salford Royal and Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh NHS Trusts. The department receives about 40,000 cases per annum and is the regional centre for neuropathology and dermatopathology. It is increasingly becoming a local focal point for gastro-intestinal pathology.
The department is entering an exciting time as we continue to develop a single cellular pathology service with colleagues from the Pennine Acute Trust as part of the Northern Care Alliance. We are looking to fill this post in Cellular Pathology with an individual who is experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated, diligent and conscientious; a person who can reflect the trust values through their contribution to the work of the laboratory. You must be able to work on your own and enjoy working as part of a team.
The hours of work are 37.5 per week, to be worked over Monday to Friday inclusive and will involve some early starts or late finishes. There is occasional weekend work and you may be required to work at the Wigan or other Northern Care Alliance sites. Standard working hours of the laboratory are 07:30 to 17:30.
In line with the Trust’s Single Equality Scheme we welcome applications from everyone irrespective of ethnic origin, disability, age, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nationality, religion, marital status, social back ground or trade union membership.
