We are inviting applications from experienced, motivated and enthusiastic HCPC registered candidates to join our friendly and hardworking team in Haematology/Blood Transfusion, Derbyshire Pathology (based at The Royal Derby Hospital site). Derbyshire Pathology is a partnership between the departments of Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Royal Derby Hospital, providing a wide range of haematological services for both Trusts and Derbyshire GP’s, serving a population of over 1 million.

You will receive appropriate induction and training so that you can participate in the 24/7 shift rota, once appropriate competencies have been completed.

Preference will be given to HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists with Haematology/Blood transfusion laboratory experience. However, this post may also be suitable for Biomedical Science graduates with accredited degrees, who wish to work towards their HCPC registration and then complete their 24/7 competencies in order to fully participate in the 24/7 shift system. Candidates should be able to demonstrate experience of working in a modern fully automated Haematology /Blood Transfusion laboratory.

Our modern Laboratories are well equipped and currently include tracked Sysmex FBC analysers, Starrsed ESR, Sysmex coagulation, Beckman Coulter Flow Cytometry, Biorad Variant and Menarini HbA1c analysers and Biorad IH1000's in Blood Bank.

We are fully accredited with UKAS ISO 15189. We hold full training status with IBMS and HCPC. CPD (continual professional development) is encouraged and supported.
