Microbiology Specialist Biomedical Scientist required with 2 years post HCPC registration experience and successful completion of IBMS specialist portfolio essential. The post is in a busy diagnostic laboratory in a specialist cancer hospital. The successful applicant will have experience of reading bacterial cultures from the full range of bacteriology sample types, be familiar with EUCAST methodology for AST, manual microscopies on bodily fluids and be a confident multitasker. Applicant will be expected to have a working knowledge of the UKAS 15189 standard. Familiarity with MALDI-Tof, BacT/ALERT, and VITEK and experience of mycology and parasitology identification an advantage.
