Microbiology at SWLP is looking for one experienced Band 6 to join our dynamic team of scientists. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a 24/7 shift system. The department offers the latest equipment in the Microbiology field with two Kiestra lines, MALDI-ToF technology, Uri-system from MAST and a new state of the art molecular laboratory equipped with the Roche Cobas 6800 and FLOW solutions.
The successful candidate will be expected to have good knowledge and experience in sub-disciplines of Microbiology. The successful candidate will rotate through all the various sub-disciplines of bacteriology, virology, parasitology, mycology and molecular. Serology is a fully integrated tracked Roche solution. The department also offers an extensive screening program for latent TB for the London region. The laboratory prides itself on its innovative and progressive approach to Microbiology. In addition, it offers a unique working relationship with the medical school creating a number of opportunities in research and development.
