Department of Haematology.

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist.

Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest children’s hospitals in Western Europe. As a centre of excellence the trust treats more than 200,000 children a year from the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and the Isle of Man.

The Haematology department has CPA accreditation, is working towards UKAS ISO15189 accreditation, and is accredited for training with the IBMS.

The department provides a full diagnostic paediatric Haematology and Blood Transfusion service.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic to join a dedicated team providing a high quality service. The department is well equipped with Sysmex XN2000, Sysmex CS2400, Grifols Erytra, Beckman Coulter Flow Cytometer and Meditech computer system.

The post holder will preferably have an extensive practical and theoretical knowledge of routine haematology and blood group serology.

The post holder will work closely with the Haematology Manager and other senior Biomedical Scientists and work as a member of the Haematology team providing the 24 hours per day 7 days per week laboratory service to the trust and its customers and will rotate between all areas of the haematology laboratory.
