A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic Band 7 Advanced Biomedical Scientist to work in the Blood Transfusion department at University Hospitals of Leicester (UHL).
You will be a HCPC registered as a Biomedical Scientist and have a post graduate qualification preferably in Transfusion Science, with significant recent extensive post registration experience in Blood Transfusion.
We are looking for a good team player that can contribute to the on-going development of the transfusion services, ensuring that high quality patient care is at the centre of all we do.
As an Advanced Specialist this post requires applying and disseminating your highly specialist Blood Transfusion knowledge and practical experience, ensuring the smooth day to day running of the department, assisting in the delivery of a quality service through the Quality Management System, working closely with the Quality Management Team and contributing to the on-going development of the department with the Head of Service and the Deputy Service Manager.
Our laboratory is fully accredited with CPA, MHRA, IIP and HCPC training status. We are currently working towards UKAS accreditation and there is an exciting opportunity to be part of theimplementation group of delivering an antenatal testing service from UHL.
The Blood Transfusion department has an active CPD scheme and encourages life-long learning with emphasis on strong, personal and professional development within a laboratory.
There will be a requirement to work at any of the 3 UHL hospital sites as appropriate for the delivery of the service, any time over a 24/7 period, however the primary site will be Leicester Royal Infirmary in the first instance.
