BAND 5 MULTIDISCIPLINARY BIOMEDICAL SCIENTIST IN BLOOD SCIENCES

Applications are invited from anyone who is interested in joining our excellent team in the Blood Sciences Network for Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Services. We currently have one vacancy at the Warwick Blood Sciences Laboratory. All staff will be expected if necessary to work at all sites within the CWPS network.

Biomedical Scientists are technical staff who must have HCPC registration. Their role involves providing a quality service in haematology, coagulation, biochemistry and blood transfusion. They will be expected to perform analyser maintenance, troubleshooting, technical validation, perform complex manual tests, ensure samples meet their turnaround times. They must also be committed to continued professional development.

You should have an education to degree level, with numeracy and literacy skills, as well as some experience of working with computers. You should be able to cope with working to deadlines in a very busy environment. You must also be committed to 24/7 working

Any relevant experience of hospital work would be desirable, but not essential, as all necessary training will be provided.

The Warwick Blood Sciences Laboratory is part of the Coventry and Warwickshire Pathology Network, which is based on the hospital sites at Coventry (University Hospital), Nuneaton (George Eliot Hospital) and Warwick (South Warwickshire Hospital). It offers a comprehensive range of Pathology services to a population of approximately 1.8million Coventry and Warwickshire residents and has a close relationship with the Medical school at Warwick University.
