The Department of Immunology at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford is part of the Oxford University Hospitals Foundation NHS trust. The Department offers a large regional service for diagnostic Immunology and possesses a large and diverse repertoire of assays, some of which are highly specialized. We receive work from local, regional, national and international users. The laboratory has UKAS 15189 Accreditation and processes 380,000 tests per year.

Candidates should have a good honours degree in an IBMS approved biomedical science degree. It is desirable that the candidate is state registered as a biomedical scientist with the HCPC. Those who have a good honours degree in an IBMS approved biomedical science degree, but without HCPC registration as a biomedical scientist will be considered if they are actively working towards completion of HCPC registration portfolio, which the department will support. The successful candidate will work and develop their skills based in the Clinical Immunology department which offers a comprehensive service of all major immunological assays to the region.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and self-motivated person who is a good communicator to join our experienced and friendly team of staff. You will play a key role in helping to deliver and develop our comprehensive, clinical immunology service. You will help to meet quality standards necessary for accreditation, and ensure that protocols are followed and method files maintained in a way that maintains Health, Safety and Security for individuals, the Department and the Trust. You will be expected to actively participate in the training and development of technical, medical and support staff as well as be pro-active in your own and the service continued development.
